Okay, so the other day I was watching football with my friends, and it got me thinking – which states don’t have an NFL team? I mean, football is huge in America, right? So I did a little digging.
First, I grabbed my laptop and opened up Google. I typed in something like, “states without NFL teams”. I found some interesting stuff. Apparently, there are 28 states that don’t have a team to call their own. That’s a lot, I thought!
I started making a list. It was a bit of a pain, honestly, going through each state one by one. Some websites had maps and stuff, which was kind of helpful. I jotted down the names of all the states that were coming up empty in the NFL department. I even double-checked a few times because, you know, gotta make sure the info is right.
Next, I decided to organize the list a little better. I grouped them into regions – like, you know, New England, the South, the Midwest, that sort of thing. It made it easier to visualize. It turns out some states are kind of surrounded by NFL teams, while others are just out there in the middle of nowhere, football-wise. I also noticed that some big states, population-wise, don’t have teams, which I thought was kind of surprising.
Here’s a basic rundown of what I found:
- New England: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, these guys are all Pats territory, right? They don’t need their own.
- Mid-Atlantic: Delaware doesn’t, they are all about those eagles.
- The South: Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, South Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, Oklahoma are all about college ball it seems, no NFL there.
- Midwest: Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, are all empty.
- West: Alaska is too far I think, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Oregon – no NFL teams.
After I did all that, I felt pretty good about what I’d learned. I even shared my findings with my friends, and we had a good chat about it.
