Alright, so I recently got my hands on the Tome of the Eternal Flow. Pretty neat catalyst, but you know how it is, getting a new weapon means the grind starts all over again. Gotta ascend this thing, right? So, I figured I’d walk you through how I went about gathering all the materials.

Checking the List

First thing I did was pull up the weapon screen and see what the heck I needed. Looked like a typical Fontaine shopping list: those blue stone fragment things from the weapon domain, some weird cores dropped by those rift hound type things, and a whole bunch of pearls from the underwater creatures. Oh, and Mora. Can’t forget the Mora tax.

Making a Plan (Sort Of)

Okay, seeing the list, I knew this wouldn’t be a one-day job. Those weapon domain materials, the ‘Echoes of the Deep Tides’ series or whatever they’re called, you can only farm them on specific days. Checked the schedule – Tuesday, Friday, Sunday for this one. So, I had to plan my resin spending around those days. No point wasting resin on artifact domains if I needed weapon stuff.

Next were the elite enemies, those Breacher Primus things that drop the Rift Cores. I remembered fighting a few but didn’t have their locations memorized. So, I pulled up the adventurer handbook, tracked them, and went around Fontaine marking their usual hangouts on my map. Just a few pins here and there so I wouldn’t forget.

Finally, the common stuff – Transoceanic Pearls and their upgrades. These come from the Fontemer Aberrants, basically all the swimming critters in Fontaine’s water. I figured these would be the easiest. I swim around a lot anyway for exploration or daily commissions, so I decided I’d just zap any creature I saw while doing other things. Kill two birds with one stone, you know?

The Actual Grind

So, the first day happened to be a Tuesday. Perfect. Dumped all my original resin into the ‘Echoes of the Ancient Chord’ domain. Got a handful of the blue fragments, mostly the lowest tier ones, naturally. It’s always like that. Still, progress is progress.

After the domain runs, I decided to test out my map markers for the Breacher Primus. Followed my pins, found a few groups, beat ’em up. Got some Rift Cores. It wasn’t a lot, but it felt good to start collecting.

Then, before logging off, I spent maybe 20 minutes just swimming around a route I knew had lots of those jellyfish and crab things. Zapped everything that moved. Picked up a decent pile of Transoceanic Pearls.

On the days the weapon domain wasn’t open, Wednesday for example, I focused entirely on the other stuff. I did my Breacher Primus route first thing. Teleport, run, fight, collect, teleport to the next spot. Took maybe 15 minutes once I got the hang of it. Then, I’d spend the rest of my playtime doing whatever – maybe finishing a world quest, exploring a new underwater cave I found, or running Ley Lines if my Mora was looking sad.

Key thing here: While doing all that other stuff, especially underwater, I made sure to constantly clear out the Fontemer Aberrants. Those pearls add up faster than you think if you just keep collecting them passively.

  • Weapon Domain Days (Tue/Fri/Sun): Resin priority numero uno.
  • Other Days: Elite enemy route first, then passive common material farming while doing other game activities.
  • Alchemy Bench: Every now and then, I’d visit the crafting bench to combine the lower-tier materials into higher-tier ones. Helps to see the progress and keeps the inventory slightly less cluttered.

Getting It Done

Repeating this cycle took a while, maybe a week or so of consistent play, making sure I hit the domain on the right days and kept up with the elite/common farming. The Rift Core farming got a bit repetitive, gotta admit. But the weapon domain grind is just standard fare, and the pearl farming was actually pretty chill, mostly done while exploring.

Eventually, I checked my inventory, and boom! Had enough of everything – Echoes, Cores, Pearls, and thankfully enough Mora after a few Ley Line runs – to get the Tome of the Eternal Flow all the way to level 90. Did the final ascension, felt pretty good. It’s always satisfying to finish a weapon grind. Now, time to actually use the thing!
