Okay, so I spent some time today tackling that quest in Dragonspine, the one where you gotta find and break four seals. It was a bit of a walk-around, but pretty straightforward once I got the hang of it.
Starting Out and the First Seal
First off, I stumbled upon this weird, big ice crystal thingy right in the middle of an area. Couldn’t break it normally. Then I noticed these glowing red rocks scattered around, the ones they call Scarlet Quartz. I figured, okay, maybe these are key.
So, I walked over, smashed one of those red rocks, and got this temporary buff, like a red aura around me. With that active, I went back to the big ice crystal and gave it a good whack. Boom! It shattered. That revealed some kind of mechanism.
After activating that mechanism, the big barrier around the Frostbearing Tree lowered a bit, and then this quest popped up properly, telling me to find and break four seals nearby. The first one was pretty obvious, right there near where the big ice was. It looked like another smaller ice chunk covering a glowing blue symbol. I just grabbed another Scarlet Quartz nearby and broke that ice chunk the same way. Easy peasy, first seal down.
Finding the Next Seals
Alright, one down, three to go. I started looking around the general area. The second seal wasn’t too far off. I remember seeing it guarded by some enemies, I think some Fatui guys were hanging around. Had to clear them out first, which was a bit of a scuffle.
Once they were dealt with, I spotted another chunk of that breakable ice with the seal underneath. Same deal: find the nearest Scarlet Quartz, break it, get the buff, run over, and smack the ice. Seal number two, broken.
The third one required a bit more looking. I had to climb up a bit, I think? It was kind of perched on a ledge or near some ruins. I remember thinking, “Where’s the dang red rock for this one?” Took me a minute to spot it, might have been slightly hidden or guarded by a smaller critter. Grabbed the quartz, made my way carefully to the ice seal, and bam! Third one gone.
The Final Seal and Wrapping Up
Okay, the last seal. This one felt a little trickier, mostly because of its location. I recall it being near that big arena-like circle, the one where you fight that big Ruin Grader later. There were some warming points nearby, thankfully, because that sheer cold is annoying.
Had to deal with the Ruin Grader first, or at least make sure it wasn’t going to bother me while I searched. Found the Scarlet Quartz, I think there were a couple around that area. Got the buff, located the final ice chunk seal – it might have been slightly lower down or tucked away – and smashed it.
And that was pretty much it. Once the fourth seal was broken, the quest objective updated. Felt good to get it done. Just involved a bit of running around, finding those red rocks, and breaking the ice. Nothing too complex, just needed to keep an eye out for the quartz and the seals themselves.
