Well, let me tell ya ’bout Joe Burrow, that young fella who’s been makin’ a name for himself in the NFL. Now, I ain’t no football expert, but I do know when somethin’ big happens, folks around here talk about it, and this one sure got folks talkin’. So, when did Joe Burrow get drafted, ya ask? Lemme tell ya, it was back in the year 2020, and he was the first pick in the NFL draft. That’s right, the very first! The Cincinnati Bengals, they saw somethin’ in him that made ’em want him bad, and they picked him right off the bat. This boy was only 23 years old at the time, which ain’t too shabby if ya ask me.

Exploring Joe Burrows NFL Draft Story: When Did He Join the Bengals?

Now, Joe ain’t always been with the Bengals. Nope, he started off playin’ for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but things didn’t quite work out there, so he packed his bags and moved on down to LSU—Louisiana State University, that is. And let me tell ya, that was the best move he ever made! Down there at LSU, Joe turned into somethin’ real special. He was throwin’ passes like nobody’s business, and before long, folks were sayin’ he might just be the best quarterback to come outta college in a long time. His last year at LSU was somethin’ outta a fairy tale. He led his team to a national championship and won the Heisman Trophy, which is like the biggest honor ya can get in college football.

But back to the draft—2020, remember? That was the year Joe Burrow’s name was called out first, and I reckon folks in Cincinnati were jumpin’ up and down, hollerin’ and carryin’ on like they just won the lottery. Now, we all know the Bengals ain’t had the best of luck over the years, but with Joe on their team, things started to look a whole lot brighter. Folks were hopin’ he’d be the one to turn the whole franchise around.

Joe’s first game in the NFL was against the L.A. Chargers on September 13, 2020. Boy, let me tell ya, he looked nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rockin’ chairs, but he still did a mighty fine job. He threw 23 passes and completed 193 yards, though he did throw one interception. But don’t go thinkin’ that’s all there is to Joe, cause he ain’t no quitter. He ran for a 23-yard touchdown in the first quarter—his first ever! Now, that’s somethin’ worth talkin’ about!

Now, I know a lot of folks are wonderin’, why’d Joe leave Ohio State? Well, some players transfer cause they want more playin’ time, others cause they think they can get more money, but back when Joe left Ohio State, money wasn’t even part of the picture like it is today. He just wanted a chance to play, and boy, did that decision pay off big time! He sure made the right call goin’ to LSU, and look where it got him—right at the top of the draft!

So, here’s a quick rundown for ya. Joe Burrow, that young quarterback from the great state of Ohio, got drafted in 2020 by the Cincinnati Bengals, and he was the very first pick in the whole dang draft. He’d been playin’ for LSU before that, and his college career was nothin’ short of a fairy tale. Now, he’s out there in the big leagues, workin’ hard and doin’ his best to turn the Bengals into a real contender. The boy’s only 23, and I reckon we ain’t seen nothin’ yet from him. So, mark my words, he’s gonna be one to watch for years to come!

In summary:

  • Joe Burrow was drafted first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • He played college football at LSU, where he won a national championship and the Heisman Trophy.
  • Joe made his NFL debut on September 13, 2020, against the L.A. Chargers.
  • His first touchdown in the NFL was a 23-yard rush in the first quarter of his debut game.
  • Joe’s decision to transfer from Ohio State to LSU was a key moment in his career, leading him to where he is today.
