Also, don’t forget to pickpocket! Seriously, some guards and high-profile targets carry useful crafting components. I felt like a proper thief, sneaking around and pilfering whatever I could find.
Once I had the required materials, I went back to one of those merchants. You gotta find the right one, though. Some only sell schematics; others will actually upgrade your gear if you have the stuff. Clicked through the menus, found the Initiate of Alamut Sword, and finally saw the upgrade option light up.
Hit that upgrade button, and BAM! Damage boost, plus some improved stats. Suddenly, the Initiate of Alamut Sword felt like a totally different weapon. It was faster, hit harder, and made taking down those tougher enemies way easier.
